So, we drove down to Newport Beach, got to see tons of family that we havent seen for years then the boys got to hit the beach! The girls.....Hailey preferred to stay back at the house for an afternoon nap!

So daddy and Zach got all there beach gear on, got their pail and there were off to the beach.
off we go!
Yeah, nap time is over. We got the head down to the water too. So this was Hailey's first time at the beach. She looked with amazement and pointed as we approached and said "wawa" then she went to put a foot in the sand and wasnt too sure if she really wanted to do that, she totally hesitated. We walked a little further then she was hooked. I now affectionately refer to her as my little surfer girl. Hailey LOVED the beach. She loved playing in the sand, running into the water, building sandcastles, digging for crabs and anything else she could think of!

our California summer

So, what fun it is to travel with such good kids. Hailey and Zach really enjoyed flying. It had been about a year, so the experience was all new again. Lots of snacks, toys and activities and before you know it, we were in California.
Grandma Barlow was there to pick us up. But she forgot who she was picking up.....I mean, she brought the small car! Oops! Mike's golf clubs almost had to hitch a ride with the next family going to Simi Valley, but we just bent them in half and made them fit!!!

Grandma Barlow just loves to play the piano and tried to give Zach a little lesson....maybe in a few years, but we all enjoyed singing songs together for awhile.

Our next fun adventure (after driving all around town, seeing what was new, visiting old favorites and remembering what we had forgotten since we left) was to go to the train station...... we waited and waited and waited for a train to arrive. When it FINALLY got there, we had just enough time to get a few pictures then it sped off. It was worth the wait. Our family loves trains.

last day of preschool 2007-2008

This is Zachary on the last day of school. He LOVES going to Applecreek. He loved his teachers, Miss Elaine and Miss Julie.

He learned so many fun songs this year, of which the family favorite is the coconut song. which goes like this......One coconut one coconut hanging high up in a tree, I cannot reach it, I have to shake it....ouch one fell down on me
! Which is soooo cute with the hand motions and his sweet little singing voice.
Zach got to do many art projects, learned letter recognition, learned some spanish words, read tons of books and played hard.

Zach has made so many friends this year that we've kept in touch with through the summer months. Lots of playdates and opportunities to share, grow and develop his kind personality.
